New Pricing and licensing plans for Dynamics 365 and Power Apps

Users of Dynamics 365 CRM and ERP family, there’s some interesting news from Microsoft. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced to make a few changes in the pricing and packaging of Dynamics 365 CRM and ERP applications. The proposed changes will take effect from Oct 1.

According to official news, the new model enables Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement to be sold as a base type license along with a few “attach licenses” with huge discounts. The current process $115 per month is reduced to $95 per month. The “one-size-fits-all” concept is now replaced with solutions that fit specific needs of customers.

There is also news about Power apps being affected with new pricing and licensing. There are two types of plans of Power Apps: Power Apps per user plan and Power Apps per app plan. These are also specified according to customers’ needs.

Microsoft Teams is helping organization meet their team requirements. Poly Trio supports Teams and there are four scenarios under which organizations can make use of Teams:

  1. Native Mode
  2. Gateway Mode
  3. Hybrid Mode
  4. USB Mode

Native Mode and Gateway mode are Audio based, where, in the other two modes; there are options to enable Video deployments. This way, you meetups are smarter and smoother with Teams.

There is not much configuration for use. The devices are pretty neat and the technicalities within the Unified Communications Software (UCS) firmware are astounding since it handles most of the audio and video configurations in itself. This however is not in USB mode. In case of USB mode, the Trio is turned into a USB audio device which is controlled by separate video based endpoint like Teams.

In the Gateway mode, the configuration uses single registration into Skype for Business Online. Teams is getting popularity because sooner or later Microsoft will indulge Skype4B into Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft introduces new cloud-based technology to empower cyber defenders

Microsoft has been eager in providing cyber defenders opportunities to defend in a better environment to benefit cloud based technologies. Earlier this year, Microsoft has introduced Microsoft Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Threat Experts for this purpose.

The idea is to support and power security teams while reducing false alarms, noise, time consuming tasks and complexity. Microsoft security experts are frequently called to rescue enterprise data and cloud environment that has become a victim of cyber-attacks.
